Hollywood actor Idris Elba has got a book deal to write a series for children, inspired by his daughter Isan Elba. The books will be both picture and fiction books which he is making in collaboration with Robyn Charteris, his writing partner. Charteris’ is known for her BAFTA-winning children's drama series for CBBC and for creating and writing one of the first original 52-episode pre-school series for the launch of digital channel CBeebies. She has a master's degree in Playwriting. The books will be published by HarperCollins. Ann-Janine Murtagh, the executive publisher, said, Idris Elba is one of the most iconic and multi-talented creatives of his generation and I am delighted that he is joining the HarperCollins Children's Books list, she told the The HollyWood Reporter.
